Libraries
Powerful customization capabilities are provided through the ability to create libraries which can store custom fluid properties, pipe materials, and all junction types except the Volume Balance. There are several categories of libraries which are discussed below.
AFT Internal Library
-
Purpose - Stores AFT-provided library data that is always available with the default installation.
-
Filename - Fathom#.dat (where # is the corresponding version number).
-
Location - Fathom installation folder, default is C:\AFT Products\AFT Fathom #.
-
Limitations - Cannot be transferred to other users, local use only.
Local User Library
-
Purpose - Stores user-specified data for most component types.
-
Filename - Fth_User#.DAT (where # is the corresponding version number).
-
Location - C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Applied Flow Technology\AFT Fathom\#.
-
Limitations - Cannot be transferred to other users, local use only.
External Library
-
Purpose - Stores user-specified data of any type: fluids, pipe materials, junctions, and fittings & losses. Multiple network or local custom libraries can be created via the Library Manager on the Library menu. External libraries can be shared to multiple users from a network location as is discussed in Creating an Enterprise-wide Network Library System.
-
Filename - User-specified filename.
-
Location - User-specified location.
-
