Selecting Output Properties and Units

Properties to be shown in the output are selected in the Output Control window. The Output Control window allows you to customize the parameters shown in the output.

Open the Output Control window by selecting Output Control from the Options menu. It may also be opened by clicking on the Output Control button on the toolbar.

Different output configurations can be saved and recalled again later.

Choosing the Output Properties

The Property Output tab in the Output Control window controls the properties to be shown in the output. The list on the left side indicates the properties that are not shown, but are available. The properties are listed in alphabetical order. Choose a property to be shown from the list, and click the Add>> button. The selected property will move to the list on the right, which shows the properties to be displayed in the output, and the units in which the property results will be displayed.

Choosing the Output Property Units

The units used for a property in the output can be changed by selecting the parameter then choosing the desired units from the dropdown list below the list of parameters. By selecting the units of interest, you can obtain your results in whatever units you find most convenient and meaningful. This means that you can enter all your input properties in one set of units (or a variety of units, for that matter), and have all your output properties in a completely different set of units. This feature has obvious benefits for international applications.

To set selected units to the preferred units (set by selecting Unit Preferences from the Options menu), click the Use Preferred Units button.

You will note that some properties do not offer the ability to specify output units. These parameters do not have units associated with them (such as the isentropic expansion coefficient).

Changing the Output Order

You can change the order of the output by selecting a property on the right-hand list, then clicking up or down on the Reoder scroll bar on the far right side of the list. The list will be reordered accordingly. The output is presented in the order defined in this list.

Removing Properties from the Output

The list on the right side indicates the properties that are to be shown in the output. To remove a property from the list, choose the property to be removed from the list, and click the <<Remove button. Clicking the << Remove All button will remove all of the properties from the list of properties to be shown. Figure 5 shows the Output Control window.
