Why We Moved to a Single, Unified Installer

Starting with the September 2026 release, Fathom, Arrow, Impulse, and xStream are delivered through one unified Datacor Flow Simulation installer, replacing the four separate product installers used previously.

What's changing

In the past, each product had its own installer. If you used more than one Flow Simulation product, you had to download and run a separate installer for each one, and keep each one updated on its own schedule.

With this release, there's a single installer that covers all four products. During installation, you'll see a screen where you can check the box for each product you want to install. Uncheck anything you don't use or don't own licenses for. Now there is one download, one install process, and you're only updating what you actually need.

Why we made the change

This release moves Fathom, Arrow, Impulse, and xStream onto a shared architectural foundation, built and maintained as a unified product suite rather than four independent products (see Stronger Foundation in the release highlights). A suite built this way is installed as a suite: the products share underlying components, so a single installer that understands all four is a better technical fit than four installers each managing their own separate copy of shared pieces.

The result for you is fewer downloads to track and a clearer view of what's installed and what's up to date, all in one place.

What this means for you

You'll see one installer file instead of four. When you run it, a product-selection step lets you choose exactly which products to install, so you're not forced to install anything you don't use. Existing installations of Fathom, Arrow, Impulse, or xStream will update in place through the new installer; you won't need to uninstall your current version first. Going back to re-run the installer allows you to change your original selections of installed products.

If you only use one product, your experience is largely the same as before, just with a different installer file to download. If you use two or more, this should mean less time managing installs and updates.

Support for silent installation scripts is available for System Admins deploying to large enterprise environments.
