Entering Reservoir Transient Data

(XTS Module Only)

Infinite Reservoirs

For an infinite reservoir, the liquid level or surface pressure can be varied over time according to a user specified transient profile (see Table 1 in the Entering Reservoir Volume Data topic). This is input on the Transient tab (see Figure 1).

The Transient tab of the Reservoir Properties window. The drop down menu for Transient Type shows Liquid Surface Elevation and Surface Pressure.

Finite Open Tanks

For a finite open tank, the surface pressure can be varied over time according to a user specified transient profile. This is input on the Transient tab (Figure 2).

Finite Closed Tanks

For a finite closed tank with a maximum allowable pressure (this is a relief pressure), the relief pressure can be varied over time according to a user specified transient profile. This is input on the Transient tab.

The Transient Tab of the Reservoir Properties window. The drop down menu for Transient Type shows the two options, None and Relief Pressure.
