Separator

The Separator junction type requires two connecting pipes. This junction type allows you to separate fluids out of a mixture.

The Separator Properties window follows the first of the two basic Properties window formats, displaying the connecting pipes in a fixed format. A flow direction through the junction is adopted from the defined directions of the connecting pipes. Separator junctions are internal to the system, with two connecting pipes.

Either the Chempak or NIST REFPROP fluid library must be used to create a mixture for the Separator junction to be used. These fluid libraries can be specified on the Fluid panel. Units for the amount of gasses separated are listed below the table.

Special Conditions

The Special Condition for a Separator stops the separation, making it act like a branch junction.
