Saturation Conditions

There are two situations when saturated conditions are output:

  • At a unique point

  • At the edge of the steam dome

The first situation is defined using two property inputs.  This returns a quality value such that 0.0 Quality (X) 1.0. This situation is treated as a normal data point.

The second situation is defined using one input property, with the second property type set to either saturated liquid or saturated vapor.  In this case, either the saturated liquid (Quality = 0.0) or saturated vapor (Quality = 1.0) values are output.

At saturated conditions, Pressure and Temperature are constant for all quality values. Density, Specific Volume and Enthalpy, on the other hand, vary across the steam dome.  The input value must be defined as either saturated liquid or saturated vapor by selecting the appropriate property option in the property list box.

The name, value and unit for each property selected for display in the Output Control window is listed in the output display. Scroll bars are displayed if the table extends beyond the window area.
