Chempak Database Installation
The Chempak Fluid Library is not included with the software by default since it is a paid add-on that is purchased separately. The Chempak Library data must be downloaded and installed before the Chempak Fluid Library can be accessed in the software.
Installation instructions for the Chempak Library are located on our Documentation Portal.
Chempak Library Location
The Chempak Library data files are installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Datacor\Chempak Data by default. When selecting the Chempak Fluid Library for use in a model, the application needs to know where to find the data files. This is specified in the control.aft file located in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Datacor\xStream\4 and is discussed in the installation instructions. If the data files cannot be found the following message is displayed:
Figure 1: Error message when the Chempak data cannot be found in the default location
The control.aft file can be modified with a text editor, and by default looks like:
Figure 2: Default control.aft file
If the Chempak Library was installed to a location other than the default, the line ChempakDataPath = will need to be edited to include the directory it was installed to.
Upgrading Chempak Library Version
When upgrading to a new version of the application, you may receive a message that the Chempak Library is outdated.

To fix this issue, download the newest version of the Chempak Library from the AFT website. Be sure to install to the same location as the existing Chempak Library, and double check the control.aft file if necessary.
