The Transient Event/Design Alert did not occur so the simulation ended at the Maximum Time

Full Message Text

Two variations are possible depending on the selection of Simulation Duration in Transient Control of the Analysis Setup Panel.

  • The Event ‘X’ did not occur so the simulation ended at the Maximum Time.

  • The Design Alert ‘X’ was not hit so the simulation ended at the Maximum Time.

Explanation

If the Simulation Duration is set to end based on a transient event or a design alert but it never occurs, it will continue to run and end at the set Maximum Time.

Required Action

The user should first see if their Event is set or if the Design Alert is feasible within the Maximum Time. If not, this could mean increasing the Maximum Time to achieve this.

The Transient Event’s transient data might need to be adjusted to occur within the Maximum Time that is set.

If a user is expecting the Design Alert to stop the simulation, then there might be a few things to consider with the model. If the design alert is not set realistically to the system this could cause the Design Alert from not being met. This could also be an issue with the system’s inherent design.
