Using Lumped Adiabatic as a Starting Point
The Lumped Adiabatic solution method is a more general solution that ignores all heat transfer effects. The resulting solution is often found quickly, and while it has lower accuracy, it can provide a good set of initial guesses for the marching solutions.
An option in the Solution Method panel allows users to have AFT Arrow first solve the system using the Lumped Adiabatic method, and then use those results as the starting point for the marching solution. Using this option can result in a faster overall runtime, especially for a complex system.
