Compressible Flow Theory in Single Pipes
In order to provide a robust method to solve compressible flow in pipe networks, numerous fundamental equations must be solved simultaneously. AFT Arrow solves the continuity (i.e., mass balance) equation, the one-dimensional momentum equation, the energy equation, the equation of state, and the Mach number equation which ties together temperature and velocity.
If you are unfamiliar with the field of compressible flow, it is suggested that you first read the compressible flow review topic and/or consult a textbook for a thorough description of the subject.
